Training
In this shop, repairing and
preventive maintenance of A.C, coaches is done. This shop has following
sections:-

For summer and
winter seasons following are the comfort temperatures:

Fresh air Inlet:
0.35 cubic meter/min/coach
filtered through poly ethylene fine net.
If smoking is allowed then
0.75 cubic meter/min/coach.
Velocity of Air:
0.1 m/sec
to 0.2 m/sec or 6m/min to 12 m/min.
Humidity:
It should be in between 40% to
60%.
PRINCIPLE OF AIR CONDITIONING:
It works on principle of
refrigeration cycle.
Refrigeration cycle
It has following components:-
Compressor: It sucks vapor refrigerant at LT/LP from evaporator and
after compressing sends to condenser at HT/HP.
Condenser: It colds HT/HP and changes vapour refrigerant into
liquid.
Expansion Valve: It decreases the pressure of liquid refrigerant
and also controls the flow of liquid.
Evaporator: Here liquid refrigerant takes the heat from outside and
makes the environment cool. Now the liquid refrigerant is changed into vapour
and again sends to compressor. This cycle is repeated again & again and
cooled air is obtained continuously.
